Rejlers contributes to the water and wastewater infrastructure of the future through a new framework agreement with Gryaab
Rejlers has signed a four-year framework agreement with Gryaab for technical consulting services in water and wastewater processing plants. The agreement gives Rejlers the opportunity to contribute to the development of the Gothenburg region's wastewater treatment, where growing capacity needs and stricter environmental requirements are driving extensive investments.
Press release 4.11.2026
The framework agreement covers, among other things, process and mechanical engineering, building construction, electricity, plumbing, geotechnical engineering and water engineering, as well as project and design management and support in construction, operation and maintenance. Rejlers can support Gryaab throughout the chain, from early investigations and technical analyses to design and support in construction, operation and maintenance.
“A functioning water and wastewater infrastructure is something we often take for granted, but it is absolutely crucial for our communities to be able to grow. As capacity needs and requirements for treatment increase, different technical skills need to work together. Here we can contribute with both specialist knowledge and a holistic perspective. We look forward to the opportunity to be part of Gryaab's important work”, says Stefan Lundborg, Water and Wastewater Manager at Rejlers.
The agreement covers both the development and modernisation of existing facilities as well as the design of new solutions. Through Rejlers' collective expertise and coordination between different technical areas, Gryaab receives support in developing efficient, reliable and long-term sustainable treatment solutions.
Gryaab is facing extensive investments. Within the framework of the New Rya development programme, an expansion of Ryaverket is planned to enable the plant to receive wastewater from approximately 1.3 million people, compared to around 800,000 in 2021. The expansion is planned to be completed in 2036. At the same time, the EU's new Wastewater Treatment Directive entails higher treatment requirements, including on the separation of micropollutants such as pharmaceutical residues.
