Rejlers is acting as the principal consultant for the Kupittaa–Turku railway project, responsible for project management and leadership, construction, design and engineering management and supervision of the project. Our areas of responsibility include transport infrastructure, bridges, tracks, electrification, signalling systems, as well as risk management and overall safety.

About the project

  • Facts

    The Kupittaa–Turku railway project is a key part of the development of Turku’s rail transport. The project has two clients: the City of Turku and the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency. The project began in 2021 and will be completed in 2026.

  • What we did

    During the project, a double track was built between Kupittaa and Turku Central Station, Turku’s passenger and freight yards were modernised and safety and accessibility in the area were improved. The project also included the construction of several bridges and underpasses, as well as the renewal of electrification and safety equipment.

The project involves the renovation of Turku’s passenger and freight yards and the construction of a double track between Kupittaa and Turku Central Station. The project’s objectives include, among other things, improving and increasing rail traffic capacity in the project area and enhancing the accessibility and safety of the platform area at Turku Central Station.
