Rejlers to run network operations centre in Kajaani, Finland

The Finnish power grid company Kajave, part of Loiste Group, will outsource its network operations centre in Kajaani to Rejlers from April 1, 2022. The contract concerns four years, with a three-year option.

"In our choice of partner, we wanted to emphasize strong branch competence, sufficient resources and a commitment to develop these critical operations," says Timo Jutila, Managing director at Kajave.
The centre plans and leads the energy network connections and ensures the grid reliability 24/7. Kajave distributes electricity to some 58,700 customers in Kainuu and North Ostrobothnia in Finland.

"For us it is important that the centre functions in all circumstances 24/7 with fast response to fault situations in the grid," says Timo Jutila.
Four people, currently working at the network operations centre, will move to Rejlers as part of the deal. In the future, six to eight persons will work at the centre.

"Rejlers aims to be the Finnish market leader in network operations centre services until 2025. Developing and broadening these services is a strategic target for us," says Jani Viljakainen, heading Rejlers’ power grid business in Finland.

Rejlers knows the Finnish power grid and wind power companies very well, having served some 60 of 80 power grid companies in Finland, and had long-term partnerships with many of them over the years.
