Rejlers wins new assignment as Vattenfall secures electricity supply in Mälardalen

By 2030, Vattenfall Eldistribution plans to make major investments in its regional network in the Mälardalen region in Sweden. Rejlers has been commissioned to, among other things, carry out feasibility studies, arrange concession applications and plan several reinforcement and reinvestment projects in the regional network.

Vattenfall Eldistribution is investing in the regional network to meet increasing capacity needs linked to the community expansion and industrialisation that will take place in the Mälardalen region in the coming years. The investments are also a direct result of Svenska kraftnät's plans for renovations to create a more flexible and robust transmission network and enable increased transmission capacity between electrical grid zones 2 and 3.

It is within the framework of an existing framework agreement and in a renewed competitive tendering that Rejlers has been commissioned to solve the challenges that Vattenfall Eldistribution faces. The projects include new pipelines, relocations, completions, reinforcements and reinvestments. A total of 13 power lines (130 kV) are covered, distributed at several different facilities in central Sweden.

The consulting assignments are comprehensive and include, among other things, feasibility studies, project descriptions, consultation documents, concession applications, pole placements and profiles, tender documents, technical descriptions and construction documents.

“We are just getting started and it is full speed from the start, even though the various projects extend all the way to 2030. At the same time, the long-time perspective and breadth of the assignment means that we can develop the way we work”, says Jonas Böös, Business Development Manager and Key Account Manager for Vattenfall.

Jonas Böös sees the assignment as a partnership where Rejlers, in close collaboration with Vattenfall, contributes with expertise to take power line projects to a higher level than before, both from a sustainability- and safety perspective.

“Rejlers and Vattenfall have a clear and common goal. In these projects, we will review the possibilities of setting a new standard for how power lines are built. We will be able to collaborate with the contractors in a new way, make better tender documents and create processes that promote increased personal safety with a clear focus on environmental and sustainability issues”, says Jonas Böös.
