Rejlers set to project manage significant hot water plant in Norrköping

Rejlers has been commissioned to project manage energy company E.ON’s construction of Norrköping’s new sustainable hot water plant. Both E.ON and the Municipality of Norrköping are purposefully working to help bring about a fossil-free Sweden, and the new plant is factor in achieving Sweden’s environmental goals. Rejlers’ assignment includes project management, from test operation through to handover of the finished plant, which is expected to take place in early 2022.

The new production plant is a significant investment for E.ON and one of the company’s larger ongoing projects. The initiative is also part of E.ON’s objective for 2025 – switching its operations to 100% renewable and recycled energy. Unlike the current hot water plant in Norrköping, which is oil-fired, the new one will be fossil-free and will run on renewable fuels such as bio-oil. It will also be able to run on wood powder.

“We are proud to be able to facilitate positive urban development in Norrköping by creating space for Inre hamnen, and of the fact that we are taking another step in the transition to 100 per cent renewable and recycled energy,” says Malin Hazard, Plant Manager Production at E.ON in Norrköping.

“We look forward to continuing our excellent cooperation with E.ON and assisting the company and the Municipality of Norrköping in reducing climate impact and achieving the country’s environmental goals,” says Mattias Viberg, Project Manager at Rejlers.
