Rejlers wins assignment for Aalto University Properties

Aalto University Properties Ltd. has chosen Rejlers to provide engineering services for electrical power, lighting, telecommunication, security and audio visual systems for Aalto University’s new core building, the Väre building, at its Otaniemi campus just outside Helsinki.

The Väre building will be used by Aalto University’s School of Arts and Design. The total floor area of the building will be approximately 33,000 square meters. In addition to Aalto University’s premises, Väre will contain the new Metro Centre and commercial services.

Väre is based on the winning entry by Verstas Architects from an architectural design competition held in 2012–2013. The quality of the architecture as well as cost efficiency and ecological sustainability were among the assessment criteria.

Aalto University Properties Ltd. owns the majority of the premises used by Aalto University in Otaniemi, Töölö and Kirkkonummi. The company is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the properties as well as related support functions and property development.
