Rejlers signs contract with OKG

Rejlers has been entrusted with a design assignment by OKG. The work is intended to result in the modernisation of existing solutions for fire safety in the Oskarhamn 3 nuclear power plant.

The assignment involves the production by Rejlers of design documentation for replacing the existing fire water mains pipes that supply various parts of the nuclear power plant facility with water in the event of a fire. Old pipes made of carbon steel are to be replaced with new ones of stainless steel manufacture. All design is undertaken on the basis of existing safety requirements and the new seismic design requirements established after the Fukushima accident.

Rejlers has used laser scanning to produce a model of the existing installations in the facility. One of the major challenges of the assignment is that the new pipes have to be designed to lie parallel with the older ones. The latter are to remain in service until the new pipes are in place. The assignment is worth SEK 2.5 million.

Rejlers has previously carried out a number of similar assignments for OKG and other customers.
