Rejlers improves the information for road-users in the railway stations

The Swedish Transport Administration has engaged Rejlers to provide suggestions for the design of traffic information for road-users on 160 of the country's railway stations. The contract is based on previous inventory data and surveys. It will be an extensive survey that will make it easier for passengers to find the right travel-route in the future.

The upgrade covers around 400 stations. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2019. By then all stations should be upgraded. It involves dynamic (digital) signs showing train departures, train arrivals and fixed displays that help users to find, for example, the right track. The upgrade also includes the review of address systems and watches. The upgrade is based on the rules and manuals at the Swedish Transport Administration, in order to rebuild consistently.

After a detailed inventory of 160 stations Rejlers will provide suggestions and budget for how the stations' traffic information can be improved. Costs for the design and construction will also be presented. The inventory is scheduled to be completed in 2016.
