Technical design of the Stockholm City Link

Rejlers is part of a consulting group, consisting of ÅF (lead consultant), Rejlers, Tyréns and Atkins, which has received an order from Trafikverket regarding the technical detailed design of the Stockholm City Link (Citybanan). The order involves the project engineering of all aspects of the technical rail installations, including ground survey work, track, electrics, signalling and telecommunications, SCADA and channelling as well as technical support up to the time when the facilities are taken into use. Rejlers main responsibility is the detailed design of channelling and object coordination. The project is estimated to continue until 2016.

Rejlers is already participating in project Citybanan with technical design management and technical installation coordination.

The City Link is a two-track rail link with two new stations in a tunnel extending for some 6 kilometres between the commuter rail stations of Stockholms Södra south of the city centre and Tomteboda to the north. The City Link will double rail capacity in and out of Stockholm and help improve punctuality for trains both within the city and throughout Mälardalen. At the same time, the new tunnel will also bring benefits to trains travelling to and from the rest of the country.
